Central Park South Implementation Strategy

Client: New East Manchester Ltd/Manchester City Council

Envision members prepared an implementation strategy for the extension southwards of a new major Business Park which is the prime focus of employment development in the long term strategy for regenerating East Manchester.

Central Park South covers some 146 ha and is part derelict and part developed. The task was to develop:

  1. spatial strategy to identify the potential for regeneration and the key public sector interventions which are likely to be required to bring this about.

  2. A programming strategy which identifies both priorities and the critical sequence of interventions required for the successful regeneration of the area over 10-15 years.

  3. The identification of key projects.

  4. A comprehensive database of site information

The report was approved by New East Manchester in 2006 and continues to underpin the on-going development of Central Park South
