Following on from the successful event in Manchester in October Envision’s second free CIL seminar brought 20 delegates together in Sheffield to explore the workings of CIL and lay to rest a number of common misconceptions. Working in partnership with Lambert Smith Hampton, Envision explored some of the key challenges associated with the introduction of CIL and equally importantly, how to tackle them. The event concluded with the unveiling of proposed six month action programme designed to put potential charging authorities in the best possible position to roll out CIL before the much publicised restrictions in the use of planning obligations comes into force in April 2014. Envision have vowed to maintain a dialogue with delegates over the next – and in many ways critical - few months.
Following the success of the North West seminar Envision has again teamed up with LSH to deliver a further half day seminar on CIL to be held in sheffield on Thursday 26th January 2012. If you would like further inofrmation please e-mail: jackie.copley@envisionuk.net
With the assistance of Lambert Smith Hampton, Envision ran a seminar looking at the key issues associated with the introduction of CIL. Looking beyond the ‘nuts and bolts’ of CIL – at governance arrangements as well as the challenges associated with effective infrastructure planning and delivery – the seminar sought to address common misconceptions and establish a ‘must do’ programme of actions local authorities will need to undertake quickly to get CIL operational and revenues coming in. Dialogue with the 45 delegates on the myriad questions that CIL gives rise to continues.
